Engineering Design:
Northeast Helical and Pyramid Engineering designed an earth support system consisting of a combination of helical tiebacks and Stablwall carbon fiber sheets. The carbon fiber sheets stiffened the concrete wall (fix the bowing) and the tiebacks handle the lateral displacement.
Project Details:
Northeast Helical installed five helical tiebacks from outside the wall. The working area was very limited by low headroom and sloping soils. Portable equipment was necessary to advance the helical tiebacks from underneath an existing deck.
After the tiebacks were installed, Stablwall carbon fiber sheets were applied along the tieback elevations to reinforce the bowing concrete wall. |
